Hmmmmmmmmmmmm????

So I have come upon a little dilemma. I need to start posting some things about our new expanded family but I think I need to come up with a new blog and blog name. It wouldn't be fair to write to you about Baby James does it? So while I think of a new name new blog, I will leave some photos for your viewing pleasure.

New Addition

There has been a new addition to our family!!! James Kenneth Hofmann was born on August 31, 2012. You are totally and completely in love with your new baby brother. With pride, you tell everyone that you are now a big brother. I cannot call you my baby anymore because you always come back with "I'm not a baby, I am a big brother". You are so helpful and concerned about Baby James and are always looking for him. It makes me tear up just to think that I was so worried that you would be jealous of him and resent his presence. I couldn't be more wrong. You love to lay in bed with him and while you kiss his head you repeatedly say, "we are a family mom". You certainly are the best big brother I could have ever hoped for. I look forward to seeing the two of you grow up together and experience life as brothers.

Favorites

Favorite things of an almost three year old according to him: Food: Ice cream and pizza TV show: Jurassic Park and Yo Gabba Gabba Number: 8 and 10 Letter: 6 and 8. LOL Color: Blue Book: Dinosaur books I can't believe how fast you are growing up!!!

Ian this morning: "Mommy, I don't want you to go to work, I don't want to go to daycare AND I don't want to stay home. I want to go to the museum!!!!!" And then he gives me this big grin like I am actually going to listen to him. Such a ham!

Mommy and Ian Date

We have reciprocal memberships to the children's museums all over the country and we certainly have used it to our advantage. One of your favorite places is now the mooseum as you like to call it. I love going just the two of us because I can let you explore everythig at your pace (very very slow pace) without worrying about keeping up with others. You certainly are an observer and explorer and love to look and experience every detail of an exhibit. I think you could have stayed at the firetruck for two hours if I let you (you stayed for over an hour at the firefighter exhibit). Here was our day at the Manhattan Children's Museum.

First Disney Vacation

We went to Disney for the first time with you and what a great time we had. We ended up going to all four parks and you loved them all. However, your favorite thing about the vacation would have to be swimming in the big pool. We made sure that we had pool time everyday. New Post!!!

Happy Easter everyone! We are back!!! To get things started again, here are a few pics of Ian coloring his Easter eggs and going for a hunt in our backyard!!! We had a wonderful Easter with a luncheon here at our house full of family and delicious food!!!

Such a long time

Haven't posted much lately though so much has gone on since.

27 Months

2 years, 3 months! What a big boy you are now. Every single time you get one month older I say that it is the best time I have with you and this month is no exception. You are now understanding so much and we have actual fairly complex conversations that surprise me. Actually, I think sometimes that you talk too much. There are moments when you literally talk and talk and talk and talk and ask questions and ask more questions and I say to you "Ian, mommy needs quiet time please". You always want to know where daddy is or what he is doing and say "where daddy mommy". Then you answer your own question and say "at work". When you are coloring on your magna doodle, you talk the entire time and it is so cute hearing you describe what you are "drawing" - "eyes, nose, mouth, monster". You also read stories to yourself and beginning to make them up though they make no sense whatsoever :) Here is a list of your current favorites:

Toys: cars, trucks, blocks, magna doodle, drums. Most mornings you wake up and ask me to play cars with you.
TV shows: Alladin the Disney movie, YoGabbaGabba, Olivia, Fresh Beat Band
Songs: Itsy Bitsy Spider and The Beatles
Books: Where's Elmo's Blanket, On The Night You Were Born, Goodnight Moon, ChickaChicka Boom Boom, The Very Hungry Caterpillar You actually love most of your books.
Food: chocolate, pizza, mac and cheese, rice and beans, pancakes
